1943 – 2024
John “Jack” Conley of Blackfalds, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the age of 80 years. Jack was born in Canora, Saskatchewan. He enjoyed sports, either as a participant or as a spectator. He especially liked golfing, hockey, football and fishing. Jack enjoyed travelling and family holidays were often centered around golfing or fishing. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading an rereading Louis L’amour, Mickey Spillane, Clive Custler and Lee Child’s novels. Jack was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 955 since 1971. He worked in all areas of Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. His travels even took him as far away as Sudan. Jack is a deeply beloved husband, father, poppa, brother, uncle and friend. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty years, Linda, his two children, Christyne and Shane and his grandchildren, Evan and Raymond. He will also be sadly missed by his brother, Brian (Linda), his sister-in-law, Wendy, his brothers-in-law, David and Wally and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Stuart and Margaret, his sister, Lynne, his brother, Pat and his sisters-in-law, Arlene and Dawn. Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Unit 22 for the care they gave to Jack and the support they provided to our family. As per Jack’s wishes, no service will be held.
