Mr. Daniel Leslie Johnson of Red Deer, Alberta passed away, peacefully at his home, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the age of 57 years. Daniel was born on January 17, 1967, at Edmonton, Alberta. He spent the majority of his career working with youth and marginalized populations. Daniel was passionate about helping people and had the ability to light up any room he entered. He always said his greatest achievements were his two daughters. He loved spending time in the mountains with his wife and dog. He loved spur of the moment adventures, and always managed to be fashionably late for events. Daniel took great pride in his family and in his chosen career. He carried a special joy and light with him everywhere he went. He will be greatly missed by so many who were touched by his presence. Daniel will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Emerald Chankarsingh; his daughters, Nicole Johnson and Vivian Johnson; his grandchildren, and his brothers, Clinton Badger, Bliss Badger, and Les Whiting, as well as numerous other family members and dear friends. A Celebration of Daniel’s Life will be held at the Balwin Community League, Balwin Park, 12904 – 74 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Daniel’s honor may be made directly to the Safe Harbour Society at www.safeharboursociety.org.
