Lilian Luella Williams Obituary
The family are deeply saddened to announce the death of Lilian Luella Williams (nee Killins) on Friday, August 16th 2024 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. Lil was 83 years old. Lilian is survived by her eldest son Kenneth and his wife Sherry Williams, grandchildren Leeanna (Jordan) Venturo-McLaughlin, Anthony Venturo and great grandchildren Luca and Jovani. Lil is also survived by a large extended family and wonderful group of friends.
Lilian was predeceased by her loving Husband Stan and sons Steven and Gordon. Lilian was a true and loyal friend, kind and caring and was always the first to offer help when friends and family were in need. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2019 and for the next 5 years, fought it with dignity, grace and a great sense of humour.
She met her husband Stan in Northern Ontario and they married in 1962 at Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Stan’s job as a Civil Engineer allowed them to live all over Canada where they finally settled in Calgary, Alberta ultimately retiring to an acreage outside of Claresholm, Alberta. After Stan’s passing, Lil moved into the town of Claresholm and then to High River. The last 20 months of Lil’s life were spent living with her son Ken and daughter-in-law Sherry in Okotoks, Alberta.
There will be no service at Lilian’s request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider and donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Lilian’s memory. The family would like to thank Dr. Ghatage and his colleagues at the Tom Baker Cancer centre as well as Dr. Webber and all the nurses, specifically nurse Leslie who displayed great compassion and care at the Foothills Emergency department.
