It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eugene Ryan Rider announces his sudden passing
on June 27th 2024 at 48 years of age.
Ryan was Born in High River Alberta on February 14th, 1976. Hewas a proud member of the Eden valley Bearspaw nation, he believed in his traditional ways, and was proud to be Stoney Nation. He was a kind, humble person who always had an act of kindness in his heart for everyone he met in life. He truly believed that being good to others was a way to get to that good place. He loved his family, loved his friends, he was always funny and caring in his own way. he also did lots in his younger years; he was very independent and smart. He travelled to powwows and was a known powwow singer, he loved fishing, fixing his sports, cars, and trucks. He later became a certified professional security officer.
Ryan attended Eden Valley School as a child, and then Okotoks foothills composite high school. Ryan completed his academic upgrading at bow valley college in Morley, Alberta. Ryan accomplished lots throughout his earlier years.
He sadly leaves behind his sisters Natalie, Penny (Clifford), Cheyenne (Robert); his brother Ross (Lacey); his special niece Beatrice Rider; his daughter Gracie Amos; his common law partner Martha Ear; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnephews.
Ryan is predeceased by his late mother Rosemarie Pooreagle-Rider; his father Gordon Dixon; his brother Riley Rider; his maternal grandparents Maxine Rider and Johnston Powderface; his paternal grandparents James Cecil-Smalleyes and Flora Dixon; along with numerous relations who have passed. The family apologizes if they missed anyone during this difficult time.
A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at the Snodgrass Funeral Chapel in High River, followed by a Wake Service in Eden Valley.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 4, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. in the Annex Building.
Arrangements are in the care of Snodgrass Funeral Homes – High River.
