Herman Molenkamp Obituary
On April 3rd, 2024 the Lord took Herman Molenkamp to his eternal home. Herman was born on April 29th, 1940 in Spijk Groningen, The Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada with his family on March 1st, 1950. In Edson, Alberta he met Janny Den Hartog and they were married on July 8th, 1965. The Lord blessed them with three children. During their married life, Herman drove truck for many miles and did many different types of truck driving. Herman also served many years as elder for three different Protestant Reformed Churches. His semi-retirement was spent driving school bus for the Canadian Reformed School in Langley, B.C. After retirement Herman and Janny moved to Lacombe, Alberta in June of 2018.
Herman is survived by his wife, Janny; their children, James Molenkamp, Marvin (Marsha) Molenkamp, and Charlene (Ed) de Boer; their grandchildren, Ken (Sarah) Molenkamp, Jeanetta (Sergio) Lopez, Eric (Alysha) Molenkamp, Joelle de Boer, Amelia Molenkamp, Jarrod de Boer, Megan Molenkamp, Jocelyn de Boer, Jillian (Gys) Huizenga, Juanita de Boer, Laura Molenkamp (Dakota Huizinga), Jeremy de Boer, Harm Molenkamp, and Jenny Molenkamp; and their great grandchildren, Luka de Boer, Keagan Molenkamp, Natalia Lopez, Elaina Molenkamp, Diego Lopez, Alivia Molenkamp, Nathan Huizenga, and Mason Molenkamp.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel (6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe) from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Fairview Cemetery, Lacombe at 12:30 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Redeemer United Reformed Church (4519 46 Ave, Lacombe) at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. H. Bleyenberg of Immanual Protestant Reformed Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre.
