It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Heather Cole at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, December 9, 2024 at the age of 67 years. Ruth was raised on the family farm on the Cottonwood Road. She attended school in Innisfail, Alberta. Ruth married Pat Cunningham and together they had three sons, Clinton, Shelby, and Patrick. On September 2, 1976, Pat sadly passed away. Later in life, she married Bill Cole and together they enjoyed camping and travelling to Alaska, the East Coast, and back up through the States. They later divorced. Ruth was employed by Home Care and the Innisfail Hospital where she worked very hard and enjoyed her co-workers. Ruth is lovingly remembered by her three sons, Clinton, Shelby, and Patrick, her four grandchildren, Rhianna, Jacob, Isac, and special grandson, Jayden. She will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Jean Rutschke, Phyllis Waldo, Joyce Bowe, Linda Krause, and Sherry Butler, her brothers, Allan and Donald Mackenzie-Grieve, and her special friend, Gloria. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Pat Cunningham, her mother, Thelma and father, James Mackenzie-Grieve, and her sisters, Mary Husband, Agnes Calkins, Sheila Averill, and Gwen Mackenzie-Grieve. At Ruth’s request, a Funeral Service will not be held. If desired, Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at 325 Manning Road NE #200, Calgary, Alberta, T2E 2P5 or at www.cancer.ca or to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
