Trevor Bell, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 10th, 2024, in High River.
Born in Ebchester, England, on November 13, 1936, Trevor’s life was marked by love, achievement, and a journey that spanned continents. Trevor was the beloved husband of Katherine (née Long) and a dedicated father to David (Kathleen), Chris (Priscilla), Penny (Ryan), and Mike (Kim). He cherished his grandchildren William, Dryden, and Megan, who brought immense joy to his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Dryden Bell and Gwendolyn (Thompson), and his sister Flora (Laykin).
Trevor’s early years in Ebchester were the beginning of a remarkable journey. As the first in his family to attend university, he graduated from Durham University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and later earned his Master of Science Degree in Geophysics. Trevor began his career as a geologist and later became a geophysicist, a field where his intellect and dedication truly shone. Business opportunities brought him and Katherine to Canada, where they embraced their new home and proudly became Canadian citizens.
Trevor had an outstanding career in the oil and gas industry, spanning several western provinces before settling with Katherine and their family in Calgary. He concluded his professional journey with an adventurous chapter in Libya. Trevor will be fondly remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, and passions for golf and classical music. His legacy of love and accomplishment will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at the High River General Hospital for their compassionate care.
