It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the sudden passing of Linda Schermann of Diamond Valley, Alberta, on February 15, 2024.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Abe Schermann, daughters, Shalene Schermann, Kimberly Schermann, and Christine Lewis, grandson Carson Lewis, and sisters Carol Reimer and Dorothy Dormuth, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Linda was born on August 9, 1948, in Regina, Saskatchewan to Lawrence and Magdalena (Buddy) Dormuth. She grew up in Regina with brothers Tony and Gordon, and sisters Carol and Dorothy.
Abe and Linda shared over 52 years of marriage, creating a lifetime of beautiful memories raising their family of three daughters in Regina, then Kelowna and Calgary. Linda enjoyed travelling, be it family trips to Disney parks, trips to Europe, Thailand, or Mexico with her husband, or a trip to India with friends. One of her greatest joys was being Oma to her grandson Carson.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
Linda’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Rising Sun Long Term Care Home in Diamond Valley for their unwavering support over the last four years that Linda resided there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sheep River Health Trust for the Rising Sun Long Term Care Home.
Linda will be fondly remembered by her husband, daughters, grandson, sisters and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A celebration of life will be held announced at a later date.
