It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brent at 66 years of age, June 30, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a battle with prostate cancer. He was born in High River, to George and Carol on May 23, 1958.
Brent is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lil; children Janice (Tom) of Strathmore, Ryan (Megan) of High River, and Blayne (Megan) of Blackie; grandchildren Caleb and Heath, Georgia and Reese; brother Darren (Marianne), as well as beloved extended family and dear friends.
Brent was predeceased by his parents George and Carol, and his granddaughter Hazel.
Brent grew up north of Blackie with his younger brother, Darren, working on the family farm, driving machinery, feeding the animals, and having fun with cousins and neighborhood friends. It is here he learned the value of hard work, which was instilled with him throughout his life. He was a devoted father and grandfather who looked forward to visits from his grandkids who developed the same love for farm life.
Brent attended Blackie Grade School and High River High School, where he developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning. He attended SAIT for Surveying and while he enjoyed surveying, he was always a farmer at heart and that decided farming was the path he would take.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada www.prostatecanada.ca
A Celebration of Brent’s Life will take place at the High River Heritage Inn on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 2:00PM.
