It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Paul Desharnais. Don passed away in Grande Prairie, AB on August 1, 2024 at the age of 53 years.
Don was born on Sept 7, 1970 to Gilles and Gertrude Desharnais in High Prairie, AB. Don took great pride in running the family farm and Triple G Trucking with his brothers. He enjoyed travelling, quadding, golfing and fishing. He was extremely meticulous, and a master at inventing and modifying things to make them extra perfect. He enjoyed joking and playing around with his nephews and nieces. But most of all, he truly enjoyed just sitting at the farm shop sharing stories and visiting with friends and neighbors.
Don is pre-deceased by his mother, Gertrude Desharnais; his sister-in-law, Claire Desharnais and his nephew, Cole Desharnais. He is survived by his father, Gilles Desharnais; brothers, Gilbert (Monique), Norman (Shantel); Nephews, Kirk (Mikala), Rene (Jaycee) Girod; Nieces, Harper and Blakelee; Great Nephew Brydon Girod and Partner Kristy Campbell, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and several close friends.
Don leaves an unimaginable void in our lives and will be missed beyond measure.
