With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donna (nee French) Guenette on December 29,
2023. She was born on July 1, 1946, and graduated from Sundre High School. She entered
nursing school in Calgary and obtained her LPN. Donna began her nursing career when she
worked at Holy Cross Hospital after graduating. She worked for several years in senior care
homes in Didsbury, and then in Claresholm for 15 years after raising her children.
Donna married her beloved husband and best friend, Denis, in 1970, and they were blessed
with three children: Alan, Eddy, and Sherry. Donna accepted Christ in 1975 and pursued further
education at Bible School, finally obtaining a Doctorate in Christian Ministry in 2014. She loved
studying and teaching the Bible.
Donna will be dearly missed by her husband, Denis, and their children: Alan and Christel, Eddy
and Mary Joy, and Doyle and Sherry Wiebe. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren,
Jonah and Kelsey (Kellan and Emrys), Abigail, Alexander, and Arianna; Caleb, David, Corlissa and
Nick Bullet, and Hannah-Marie; and Jenaya and Nolan Sept, Reagan, Alia, Cole, Isaac, Kinley,
and Morgan, as well as her siblings: Sandy Osbourne, Geraldine Shier, Ross French, and Danny
French. Her memory will always be cherished by those who knew her, and her legacy will
continue to live on through her family.
She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Gracien Wiebe, and brother, Ron French.
A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held on January 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Calgary Word of
Faith Church. If you wish to make a donation in her memory, please do so to Mustard Seed,
