Obituary For Teddy Baldry
Teddy Baldry, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Worsley, AB, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Prairie Lakes Senior Complex, at the age of 82.
Teddy was born and raised in Hines Creek, AB. She entered the world on November 25th, 1940, making her number five out of six kids. She met the love of her life, Ken Baldry and married him on December 23, 1958. They then moved to Worsley, starting their family and welcoming to the world Mabel, Theresa and Charlie.
Teddy was a very active member of the community, always willing and wanting to help. She took a special liking to involving herself in keeping her town looking spick-and-span. She volunteered her time with the Worsley Legion, as well as the Historical Society. Teddy was also the Post Mistress of Worsley for thirty-two years.
Teddy was always up for an adventure. Whether it was packing up to go to Running Lake for a picnic with the grandchildren, driving to show the kids Ike’s horses just on the outskirts of town, or taking the grandkids snowmobiling or on quad rides. At the ripe age of 60 Teddy also learned how to ski so she could participate in one more activity with her grandchildren. These kids were her life; and she showed it, whether it was watching Tucker or Jared play hockey, Hunter’s volleyball, Cassidy’s rodeos, or Taten and Lanes 4H achievement days you could always count on her being there.
She will be sadly missed by daughters: Mabel Rainwater (Doug) and Theresa McLeod; son Charlie Baldry (Jen); grandchildren: Tucker Baldry (Stephanie), Chase Fox, Cassidy McLeod (Cody), Hunter Rainwater (Ray), Lane Hartmen, Taten Hartman and Jared Baldry; great-grandchildren: Sutter Baldry, Rose Moen, Stevie Baldry, Amelia Sluggett, Axel Sluggett, and Ruth Moen.
Teddy was predeceased by husband Ken Baldry; son-in-law Wade McLeod; parents Leise and August Peters; sister Linde Foster; and brother Pat Peters.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at the Worsley Central School gymnasium (216 Alberta Ave, Worsley, AB).
Memorial donations may be made out to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
