Obituary For Sharon Diane Sheridan
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sharon Diane Sheridan, who fought a hard battle with cancer. She showed great strength and determination. Sharon passed away with her family by her side on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the age of 73 years.
Sharon was born on June 4, 1951, in Grande Prairie, AB, to Ruby and Clarence Boyer. Sharon grew up in Grande Prairie, along with her two brothers and one sister: Brian, Verna and Wayne. In 1971, Sharon married Dale Sheridan and welcomed their son Grant in 1971, and Rodney in 1974.
Sharon worked at the Dragon Palace and Imperials Garden. Raising her boys took up much of her time. They enjoyed their summers at their cabin at the Narrows of Sturgeon Lake. During the 42 years of being at the lake, they made many good friends. She and Dale loved travelling and spent the majority of their retirement in Yuma, Arizona.
Sharon loved kids and kids just loved her back. She had a way of connecting with them with her big warm smile and making them feel special. Sharon’s favourite outing was bingo. She also loved shopping. She could shop for hours and usually find something however, not always exactly what she was looking for, so of course she’d have to go again. She enjoyed going out for lunch which was occasionally followed by a visit to the casino. She would always say, “I never win a darn thing!”, however, she always enjoyed the outing and visiting with friends. She would have nicknames for some of her friends that would last a lifetime.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her husband of 53 years Dale Sheridan; her son Rodney Sheridan; grandson Tanner Sheridan; daughter-in-law Cherie Sheridan; brother Brian and Alanna Boyer their children Clayton and Jackie Boyer and family; Tyson and Lesa Boyer and family; Scott and Jen Hudson and family; Jen and Will Wilson and family; sister Verna Boyer and Willy Cochrane and their children: Shawn Cochrane and Mandy Mundle, Sandy Cochrane and Travis Bredeson and their son Draper Bredeson; brother Wayne Boyer. Sharon will also be missed by many extended family and friends.
Sharon was predeceased by her son Grant Sheridan; and parents: Ruby and Clarence Boyer; and in-laws William and Betty Sheridan.
The family would like to sincerely thank everyone at the Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie for their care of Sharon over the past five months.
Donations may be made in memory of Sharon to the Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society.
