Obituary For Sandra Marie Donald
April 6, 1947 – November 30, 2023
The family of Sandra Marie Donald regret to announce her passing after a courageous and difficult battle with cancer.
Sandra was born to Ed and Edna Anderson on April 6, 1947, in Beaverlodge, the middle of five children. The family moved to Dawson Creek and Fort St John. It is in Fort St John that Sandra met the love of her life after a traffic stop by a handsome young RCMP officer Jim Donald. Early in their marriage they grew their family with the birth of daughter Teri and then son Michael. Mom and dad moved around B.C. making many friends wherever they lived. Friends that were like family and all helped with creating memories we all talk about still today.
Family was important to our parents. We would travel to visit family and friends every summer. We enjoyed camping and skiing as a family. Mom also enjoyed curling and golfing with the ladies.
Mom was a dynamic, get things done kind of woman and she had one direction and that was straight ahead. Her battle with cancer was fought as she only knew how, head on, only this one she knew she wouldn’t win.
Mourning the loss are her kids Teri (Al) and Michael (Rheannon), grandchildren Keyana, Alex and Tyler. As well her sisters Ginny, Pat and Darlene, cousins near and far, nephews and nieces that loved her dearly. Life long and new friends she’s made along the way also feel the loss.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Jim, mother Edna and brother Daryl.
Special thank you to all that have cared for mom during her journey. As well thank you to Drs Aylward, Marcotte Hatting and Rigo. And to friend Judy who sat at mom’s bedside with Teri and Michael.
