Obituary For Richard “Rick” Paul Aimee Lamoureux
February 24, 1962 – August 31, 2024
Richard (Rick) Paul Aimee Lamoureux was born to Bernard and Yvonne Lamoureux in McLennan, AB, on February 24th, 1962, and tragically passed on August 31st, 2024. He is survived by a community of family and friends who will miss him dearly. As a long-time resident of High Level, the list of people who are grieving his loss is extensive and know that you all deserve mention.
Although Rick’s upbringing was difficult, he found home in High Level in the late 70’s under the loving care of Dave and Della Koch, whom he was forever grateful for their guidance and support. He will be remembered for his acts of service, and as much of the community would know, either on a personal level when he would show up to clear your snow, or in social settings when he would be there flipping burgers, he was always ready to volunteer and help wherever he was needed. His resourcefulness and willingness to serve his friends and the community will be forever missed.
Upon learning to fly and receiving his pilots license in 1992, he found a passion that brought him immense joy. His friendship and camaraderie with fellow pilot Garnet Tomke allowed him to regularly visit his favourite place, the Tomke cabin on Bistcho Lake.
In accordance with Rick’s wishes, no formal service will be held, and a private gathering of friends and family to spread his ashes will be announced at a future date. If you wish to attend, please contact Corri Draves or Tonni Lopez directly, as no date has been set.
May the memories of him once again soon bring joy to the hearts of all navigating his loss. Rest in peace Rick and know that you were loved.
