Obituary For Paul Andrew Fredland
November 22, 1939 – March 6, 2024
Paul Andrew Fredland was born on November 22, 1939, in smith, Alberta, and passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on March 6, 2024, at Prairie Lake Senior Living in Grande Prairie.
Paul grew up on the family farm in La Glace, and then went to Vermillion Agricultural College. He worked at various jobs in Dawson Creek and Grande Prairie before moving back to the farm in 1964.
Paul and Ruth Lindquist were married in 1963 and welcomed Shauna into their lives in 1967.
Two of Paul’s passions were music and travelling. After teaching himself to play the guitar, he and Ruth and a group of friends spent several years playing and singing gospel music at various senior homes in Grande Prairie. Summers were spent in their RV, touring, camping, and attending jamborees.
Paul is survived by his wife Ruth and daughter Shauna (Brooks) Hoffos, two sisters Joyce Loiselle and Shirley Rosell, and two brothers Conley and Earl (Heather). Paul will also be missed by Ruth’s 4 sisters Janet Adams, Mildred Lindquist, Beth (Bruce) Townsend, and Nancy (Fred Goodner) Lindquist, and Ruth’s brother Larry (Carol).
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Julia Fredland, sister Eilene Bangen, and brothers-in-law Orlo Bangen, Roger Loiselle and Larry Rosell, as well as Ruth’s mother Doris James, and brother-in-law Pat Adams.
A private Family Memorial Service will be held, but everyone who wishes to visit and share memories is invited to attend an open house at 2:30 pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home, 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB, T8W 0C7.
Paul’s family would like to give special thanks to the 3rd floor staff at Prairie Lake Senior Living for the excellent care he received while he lived there.
