Obituary For Michael Terrance Burrows
May 18, 1976 – November 9, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Burrows.
Michael passed away peacefully in his sleep in Dawson Creek, BC at the age of 47. Although born in Ontario, Michael’s heart and home was in Alberta.
Michael came to Alberta over 20 years ago to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. He immediately gained a reputation as a hard worker and the guy to get the job done. Michael held various positions in the oil and gas industry but most recently had made a move to a new career as a crane operator where he also excelled.
In his spare time, Michael had numerous hobbies and interests including cooking, mountain biking, hiking, and enjoying all the outdoor adventures Alberta has to offer. But above all, Michael loved being a Dad to his boys Lennox and Oliver.
Michael is survived by his sons Lennox and Oliver and remembered by their mother Kendra, his parents Terry and Cathy Burrows, his sister Rachel (Jim), nephews Cayden and Gavin, his sister Carley (Cam), nephew Nixon and niece Tia. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, his girlfriend and all his friends who were his Alberta family.
He was pre-deceased by his Grandparents and Auntie Ann.
A Gathering of Friends (open house style) will be held at Bear Creek Funeral Home (11802 99 Avenue in Grande Prairie) on Thursday, November 23, 2023, from 10-12pm with a program beginning at 10am. Michael’s family wish to offer a time to share memories of him during the program. For his gathering, no formal attire is required, casual dress is preferred.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a fund for Michael’s sons Lennox and Oliver. Details to donate will be provided shortly.
