Obituary For Maximo Lusterio Encong
December 27, 1942 – October 6, 2023
Tatay Maximo Lusterio Engcong passed away in the loving presence of his family in Edmonton, Alberta on October 6, 2023.
He lived to the age of 80 and was married to his wife Nanay Carlita for 59 years before she passed away in 2021. Tatay Max enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, while also talking about how much he loved and missed his late wife. He was a symbol of laughter and resilience in our family. Tatay Max taught us how to laugh even during hard times, and to express our emotions because it meant that we were human. He spent most of his time offering help whenever the family needed it, but most of all he enjoyed watching boxing all the time. You could also find him singing and whistling while washing dishes, or even going on walks and sitting out in the sun if the weather would permit.
Tatay Max was loved and gave the gift of love and laughter to all the people in his life. We will miss him dearly.
There will be a Viewing on Saturday, October 21, from 3pm to 6pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Grande Prairie, at 1 pm. The interment will follow at the City of Grande Prairie Cemetery.
