Obituary For Maureen Boyd
In loving memory of Maureen Ann Boyd, born on December 9th, 1957, who peacefully departed this life on March 5th, 2024, reuniting with her father Keith in heaven. Maureen, aged 66, succumbed to her courageous battle with cancer at Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. She leaves a profound void in the hearts of family and friends who cherished her deeply. Her absence is keenly felt by her grandchildren, children, and coworkers, as she played an indispensable role in their lives.
Maureen epitomized unwavering loyalty as a family member and friend. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she fiercely protected and supported those she loved. Her expressions of love were vocal, and she never hesitated to celebrate and encourage the people she cared about.
Educated at Harry Balfour and GPRC, Maureen pursued bookkeeping classes and later met her former husband, Bob. Maureen continued to single parent and raised two wonderful children, Robyn and Ryan, who became the focal point of her life. Maureen dedicated herself to various local companies, balancing bookkeeping for small businesses with significant roles in trucking and communications companies. Her selflessness shone through as she worked tirelessly to support her children’s pursuits in sports and music.
While creating lasting memories in arenas, ball diamonds, and parent hospitality rooms, Maureen prioritized her children’s needs. In later years, she embarked on annual adventures to tropical destinations with friends Greg and Debbie Haglund, relishing diverse cultures, beaches, and oceans.
Maureen is survived by her children, Ryan Boyd (Christine Boyd) and Robyn Boyd, and grandchildren Austin, Jackson, Brody (Ryan), Kaleb, and Tristen (Robyn). She is also remembered by her mother, Ruth Boyd, and brothers Glen Boyd (Arlene, Stephanie, and Brandon) and Terry Boyd (Tracy, Taylor, and Mitchell). Preceded in death by her father, Keith Boyd.
A celebration of Maureen’s life will take place at Bear Creek Funeral Home on March 13th at 2:00 PM. The family extends an invitation to all friends and loved ones to join in remembering Maureen and sharing cherished memories.
