Obituary For Judy Shanks
Judy Shanks passed away at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital on December 31, 2023 at the age of 76 years. She was born and lived in Blackfalds, Alberta and moved to Worsley with her parents, Floyd and Greta Shanks, to finish high school. Judy met Pat Lund and they were married and had four children; Geordie, Quincy, Pam and Kurt who were raised on the farm at Worsley.
Judy enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing and visiting with neighbours. She struggled with mental health issues in her life and moved to Grande Prairie in 1988. While living in Grande Prairie, she completed some college courses. In later years she met Fred Tunke, and they were inseparable. Judy had someone to spend time with and to make plans for the future. They were very happy together.
Judy is survived by her children; son Geordie (Raina) grandson Victor (Ayrianna), and great granddaughter Aspen, granddaughter Nichole (Brandon), great granddaughters Hannah and Paisley, granddaughter Katie (Ernest) great grandson Keaton and grandson Olin; son Quincy (Krista) grandson Zoltan and granddaughter Bryn; son Kurt (Jodie), grandson Patrick and granddaughter Emily; daughter Pam (Tim) and granddaughter Tracey, great granddaughters Teal and Kinnley, granddaughters Jesalyn and Jenaea.
She is predeceased by her parents Greta and Floyd Shanks.
A Gathering of Friends for Judy will be held in the spring of 2024.
