Obituary For Joyce Marion Sefton
Joyce was born and raised in Crossfield, AB, on a farm with her parents, Bill and Grace Cameron and her older brother Billy.
Keith and Joyce married in 1957 and started their family in Didsbury, AB. They then moved to Grande Prairie, AB, followed by a move to Clairmont in 1965 where they have resided since. Joyce was a very good and true friend, cheerful and happy. She worked hard alongside her husband Keith, starting up and running the family business – Keith’s Small Engine Repair. She also loved spending time with her loved ones at the Sefton family farm. Her family meals and baked treats were delicious and enjoyed by all. Joyce was an asset to her community and her family alike.
Joyce was very skilled with her hands and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and painting. Her family and friends were very important to her and Joyce loved keeping in touch with them through the mail, and later on in her years she would keep in touch on Facebook and Messenger. Once Joyce’s eyesight deteriorated, she spent many hours still crocheting her dish cloths, playing bingo and card games, puzzles as well as tap and go coloring on her notepad.
In her younger years Joyce was quite athletic. She loved to play sports among those were baseball, bowling, curling and golfing. She also loved music festivals and travelling to places like Arizona, Vegas, and Texas. Joyce had fun going to the casino, shopping, and horse racing (especially the big greys).
She will sadly be missed by her beloved husband of 66 years, Keith; loving daughter Cheryl (Victor) and extended family; as well as brother and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, very dear friends, and anyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Joyce was predeceased by her sons: Kenny and Terry; parents Bill and Grace; mother and father-in-law, Marguerite and George; as well as her brother.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB). There will be a luncheon to follow the service at Oliver’s Tearoom.
Interment to follow the luncheon at the Grande Prairie Cemetery.
