Obituary For Donna Stephenson
March 20, 1945 – July 20, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna, a wife, loving mother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Dara (Daniel) Huys, niece Leasa (Herman) Bueckert, sister Carol (Helge, deceased) Dahle, and brothers Mike (Barb) Reiss, Terry Reiss, Calvin (Audrey) Reiss, Joey Reiss, Lance (Doreen) Reiss, and Anton Reiss.
Donna was predeceased by her loving husband Garry Stephenson, daughter Cindy Moser, sister Norma Wagner, and brothers Martin and Johnny Reiss, and is now reunited with them in eternal love.
Donna dedicated her career to caring for others in healthcare. She began her career at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Quesnel, British Columbia, which sparked her love of the profession. Then, returning to Saskatchewan, she worked at the Indian Head Hospital as a care aid, where she cherished the time spent with her patients and colleagues. Dr. Davis was a beloved mentor and father figure to her. Additionally, she spent many years serving as a special care aid at the Golden Prairie Home in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of countless residents. She had many coworkers whom she loved and became lifelong friends with.
In her personal life, Donna cherished time spent with friends. She was a longtime member of the Canadian Legion and a member of Royal Purple, even enjoying the title of Honoured Royal Lady. She always loved a good joke and never passed up the chance to sing along and dance to her favorite songs. She and her late husband Garry shared a love for dancing, particularly the jive, and spent many joyful moments together on the dance floor. Her dogs meant the world to her – from Sam and Sully on the farm to little Mishu, her constant companion.
After a courageous battle with dementia, Donna passed away on July 20, 2024.
As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in the memories of her love, laughter, and dedication to others.
Rest in peace, Donna. Your legacy will live on in our hearts.
