Obituary For Curtis Lorne James Belcourt
December 1, 1954 – May 15, 2024
With broken hearts and immense sorrow, we have to say farewell to our friend, father, and family patriarch, Curtis Lorne James Belcourt.
Curtis was born on Wednesday, December 1, 1954, in Grand Prairie, AB, as the 5th child of Florence and Leonard Belcourt.Curtis passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in Kelly Lake, BC. at the age of 69 years.
He was a lifelong resident of Kelly Lake where he met and married the love of his life Barb. They were partners in love and life for 51 years. Curtis and Barb built their home in Kelly Lake where they raised their four children and three grandchildren.
In addition to Barb, Curtis is survived by his daughters Shannon(Ken), Angela, and Andrea (Tim).
His grandchildren Reign, Skye (Brendan), Korbyn, Tutchone, Summer, Kilyn, Takoda, Rygel, Talon, Gunner, and Faryn, and his precious great grandchildren, Kenzie, Brysen, and Samuel Lorne James.
He will also be remembered by his sisters Laverne, Audrey, andRhoda, and his brother Dale, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Curtis will be greeted in Heaven by his son Tyrel who passed in March of 2023, his parents Florence and Leonard, his sister Lillian, brothers Wilfred, Eugene, and Delmer, both maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm with a Service to follow at 3:00 pm at Bear Creek Funeral Home, 11802-99 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB.
The family has requested that any donations be made by “Paying it forward.”

The family wish to thank Thomas, Grant, Lloyd, Ramona, Loretta, Kevin, Ryan and Bev for trying so hard to revive Curtis. We also thank the Beaverlodge and Dawson Creek EMS for their compassion and diligence.
