Obituary For Clifford Martin Hunt
Cliff Hunt, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the age of 80 years, at the Prairie Lake Hospice.
Cliff was born October 2, 1943, in Lacombe, AB, to Edwin and Selma Hunt. He was raised on a farm, and started working on the family farm at the age of 15 years.
Cliff married his school sweetheart, Hannah, on February 17, 1961, and they raised eight children together.
Cliff was always happy, didn’t like crowds, liked being in the bush, and loved being with his family. He loved camping, Jeeping, hunting, and time around the campfire. He spent a lot of time with his family playing cards, and all his kids knew how to play poker well, which helped them with their math skills in school. Cliff wanted his boys to follow in his footsteps, so he liked to take his boys with him to work in the oilfield, as he ran heavy equipment there. In the last several years he liked to stay home and watch movies with his electric blanket.
Cliff will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Hannah; his children: Tammy (Jim and 3 children) Paradis, Martin (Barb and 8 children) Hunt, Debbie (Hap and 4 children) Strong, Larse (Connie and 4 children) Hunt, Lelsy Hunt (5 children), Melinda (Bruce and 3 children) Labenovich, Lauretta (Bruce and 2 children) Bennett, and Lynn (Dudley and 6 children) Miller; 36 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as many other friends and family members.
Cliff was predeceased by parents Edwin and Selma Hunt; brothers: Huey, Curtis, Donny, Ronny, and Norman; parents-in-law Rod and Audrey Berry; and brothers-in-law Bill and Dale Berry.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Holiday Inn at 2:00 pm in Grande Prairie, AB (9816 – 107 St).
