Obituary For Bernadette Marie Desjardins
January 5, 1955 – September 15, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernadette Marie Desjardins (Haun). Bernadette passed away surrounded by the love of her family on September 15, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Gerald; daughters: Felicia, Carla (Doug), and Janine; grandchildren: Bramm, Xola, Judah, Jobe, Immanuel, Sunny and David; sisters and brothers: Louise (Louis), Fred (Jeanette), Frances (Tom), Henry (Genny), Helen (Louis), Monique, and sister-in-law Joanne; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother Cam, sister Mary, and parents Camille and Frederick Haun.
Bernadette was born in Spalding, Nebraska on January 5th, 1955, and moved to Manitoba shortly after with her parents and siblings. She met Gerald when she was 17 years old, and they were married on November 30, 1974. They moved a few times before settling in the Spirit River area of Alberta in 1985. Bernadette had a deep love of gardening and plants, creative and artistic pursuits such as sewing and painting, making delicious food, and sharing her warmth with her family and friends. Bernadette had a lifelong struggle with heart disease. She faced this with courage and discipline until the fight had come to an end. She was very health conscious and freely shared her knowledge of herbs, vitamins and spiritual healing. Bernadette was strong, patient and brought peace to those around her. She will be missed immensely.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
