It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elder George Leonard Marcel, on Saturday September 28, 2024, in Fort Chipewyan Alberta.
George was born to his parents Benjamin and Marie Madeline Marcel on August 26, 1943, in Jackfish Lake Alberta. He was one of 19 children.
He leaves to mourn his daughter, Donita Ann Gibot; granddaughters, Angela (Stanley), Rhonda (Guy), Krista, Carlie, Reva, Alannah, and Krissy; grandsons, Tyler and Derek; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Rigney; brothers, Henry (Kim), John, Freddy (Miranda).
George was predeceased by his mother, Marie Madeline; father, Benjamin; sisters, Margaret, Lorna, Albina, Julia, and Angelique; brothers, Daneille, Pat, Archie, Matthew, Pete, Edward, and Joe; three infant siblings; daughter Theresea (Smally); and great-granddaughter, Theresa Marcel-Boucher.
