It is with broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of our father, grampy, son, and uncle Travis, originally of Scotch Lake, on September 12, 2024, in Fort McMurray.
Travis is the son of Sharon nee: McInnis and the late Brian Carroll. He was Born in St. Catharine’s Ontario on June 17, 1972. The first son, so in Travis’ eyes, the favourite.
Travis is survived by his son, Preston; and Travis’ Joy, his grandbaby Lynkin; daughter, Talia; Talia’s sister, Hannah MacDonald and their mother, Nicole Crozier; brothers, Troy (Crystal), and Ryan; sister, Renee (Dana); niece, Bryleigh; nephews, Mason, Carson, Channing, Jaxon; his brother, Cole and their mother Melissa; Ma’s partner Randy Bennett; Da’s partner, Nicole Hernandez, her daughters, Patricia (Sam), Victoria and grandson Daniel.
Travis lived all over Canada in his younger years but always came home to Cape Breton. He was a familiar face at Main Street Lounge. He took after his father and started his own concrete and pool company. He turned his life around when he became a Dad. Preston made him change his ways and Talia brightened his days.
He eventually made his way back to Fort McMurray to make a better life for himself and his kids. Working with Local 92 and lately Local 955 as a safety advisor. Travis was the biggest Maple Leaf’s fan, and he was proud of it. He was always good for a laugh. He loved to have things his way. Quick tempered and quick witted. Always a sarcastic comment or comeback at the tip of his tongue.
If you knew Trav, you knew he had a big heart and was a big softie. He loved his kids, his niece and nephews and his whole family. He always checked in on everyone with a text or message. If he called you, you knew you’d be on the phone with him for at least an hour. We will miss those phone calls.
Besides his father, Travis was predeceased by his brother, Chad; paternal grandparents, Bert and Christena Carroll; maternal grandparents, Jean and Alex McInnis; uncles, Robert McInnis and Billy Greer; aunts, Tena and Mary McInnis; cousins, Melvina and Kyle McInnis, Kyle McKown, Allen Carroll; his best friend, Russell Buffett; and his other mother, Marie Gale.
