Daniel “Donny” Alfred Velichka was born on January 8th, 1954 in Fairview, Alberta to Steve & Anne Velichka (Brauer).
Donny was a longtime resident of Hines Creek & Eureka River.
Donny was born 6th of 11 children, raised on the Velichka homestead west of Hines Creek. In 1974 Donny met Glee who played a little hard to get, but Donny picked out a ring & they tied the knot on October 25, 1975. Donny & Glee welcomed their daughter Wrenda in November 1976, followed by sons Corey in 1978 & Brandon in 1980. Donny had a long career as a truck driver where he earned the nickname “Hawkeye”
Donny “retired” from trucking in 2017 but couldn’t completely let go from trucking & would go on to truck on & off until 2022.
Donny enjoyed camping, a good game of horseshoes, telling jokes, & most important family time, Donny was very proud of his grandchildren & great grandchildren. If you’ve ever been to one of his grandkids’ sporting events you would hear the passion in his heckling.
Donny is survived by his wife Glee, daughter Wrenda (Kane), Corey (Chantelle), Brandon (Misty), 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with the 9th on the way, 2 sisters & 6 brothers.
Donny was predeceased by his parents Steve & Anne, in laws Jack & Hazel Bean, brother Corey & sister Virginia.
