With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bill, beloved husband, father, brother, grand-father and great-grandfather.
Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan; sister, Dianne; brother, Cairn; and parents, Milton and Agnes.
He is survived by his sister, Donna; sons, Bob (Fran) and Brian (Sue), grandfather to, Bryce (Bibit), Chad (Kelsey), Brianne (Bruce), Lauren (CJ) and great grandfather to, Quinn, Raelynn, Isla, Kinsley, Harlow and Mara.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, he was the eldest of four. Bill made his career in technical sales and was also an avid woodworker, making heirloom pieces for his grandchildren and for many years donated handmade toys to local charities. When he wasn’t dabbling in wood projects he could be found at local arenas, coaching hockey in Windsor Ontario and was one of the founding fathers of the St. Albert, Alberta Merchants , who are still going strong after 40 years! He loved watching hockey with Joan, his wife of 65 years. But of all things Bill will be remembered as a passionate story teller. Sharing life experiences from his childhood, travel and career. In later years he found himself as the main caregiver for Joan, a job he took to heart. Whenever possible, he could be found passing time at the casino, claiming to be a winner more often than not.
Bill will be missed immensely by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Sjogrens Society of Canada.
The family will be planning a celebration of life in Toronto in the new year.
Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home.
