With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Russell Shaw on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the age of 94 years. His passing follows the recent death of his beloved wife of 69 years, Katie.
Walter leaves behind his sons, Doug (Jayne), Randy (Maew) and Geoff (Valerie); daughter, Sandra (Simon); daughter-in-law, Jackie; grandchildren, Brendan (Karla), Angela, Tim (Lucy), Liana (Jeff) and Nicki (Daniele); and great-grandchildren, Quinn, Maya, Claire, Harrison and Leon.
He was predeceased by his parents, Walter Shaw and Mary Dolan; and his sister, Lois.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Chartwell Griesbach Retirement Residence for their care and compassion.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue NW, Edmonton, officiated by Bonnie Marchand. Cremation has been entrusted to Park Memorial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
