Mr. Sam Korodimas of Edmonton passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 84, with family by his side. Sam was born in Agios Petros, Greece, but immigrated to Canada and eventually settled in Edmonton in the 1970s with his brothers. The Korodimas brothers found success in the restaurant industry before building a commercial property management portfolio that allowed them to transition into retirement.
Sam is fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in Canada, the United States, Greece, and around the world.
Sam was predeceased by his father, Nilos; his mother, Efstathia; his brothers Peter, Kostas, Emmanuel, Perry, Steve, and George; and his sisters Athena and Georgia.
Sam was well known for his kindness, generosity, and friendly demeanor. He took pleasure in spending time with family and friends. We will miss his contagious smile and his favorite catchphrase: “You look good – very strong!”
A private Trisagion (prayer) service and funeral service will be held at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, 10831 – 124 Street NW, Edmonton, with interment to follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132 – 163 Street, Edmonton. Father Seraphim Tzitzikas will be officiating.
In memory of Sam, donations may be made to St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church (greekorthodoxedmonton.ca/general-donations/).
