The family of Norman Motkosky of Edmonton is saddened to announce his passing on October 4, 2024, at the age of 89 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Sylvia; children, Norine Best, Kevin, and Cheryl (Warren Semeniuk); grandchildren, Paige and Brooke; as well as other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Katherine.
Norman was born and lived his life in Edmonton. He served as a firefighter with the City of Edmonton for 38 years. After retirement, he spent his time travelling, square dancing, and working as a volunteer for the local Community League, Knights of Columbus, and Camp Encounter.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at St. Edmund Catholic Church, 13120 116 St NW, Edmonton, AB, T5E 5H5. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Edmonton Firefighters Burn Treatment Society, 7024 101 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB, T6A 0H7 or CK Hui Heart Centre/Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, 10245 111 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB, T5G 0B6
