Mary passed away peacefully at the Grey Nuns Hospital, surrounded by her son, Scott Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Dione Kennedy; family, friends, and her compassionate medical team.
Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, in 1946, Mary was a beloved mother, Nana, sister, and friend. She dedicated her life to her family and her wide circle of friends, always offering a kind word or an inviting smile. Her grace, independence, and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Mary’s greatest joy was spending time and sharing laughs with her grandsons, Kian and Declan Kennedy, who brought her endless pride and happiness. She also cherished her numerous visits to Australia to see her beloved son Shawn, as well as spending time with his wife Jessica and their ever-growing animal family. In addition, Mary made numerous visits to Newfoundland to see her sisters, brothers, and in-laws, which brought her great joy and created numerous cherished memories. Mary valued her time with friends on the golf course and bowling lanes, along with her daily walks and time spent in nature.
She is survived by her sons, Scott and Shawn Kennedy; cherished daughters-in-law, Dione Kennedy and Jessica Obersby; treasured grandsons, Kian and Declan Kennedy; and beloved siblings; Hannah Finn (Mick Finn), Anne Murphy (Greg Murphy, deceased), Thomas Foran (Susan Foran), and Edward Foran (Libby Foran).
