It is with profound sadness that the family of Marlene Duval announce her peaceful passing on September 2, 2024, at the age of 65 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Amanda (Brandon) Nadeau, Nicole (Connor) MacEachran, and Tiffany Duval; grandchildren, Sebastian, Ezra, and Boston; and siblings, Ingrid Enhagen and Keith (Kathy) Enhagen.
Marlene’s favorite way to spend time was surrounded by family and animals. She was a loving and devoted mother and nana, spending much of her free time with her children, grandchildren, and their pets (Henry, Winston, and Roman). Her support and encouragement were integral in her daughters’ success and her endless love and pride in her children will remain with them. They will never forget the time she spent with them on crafts, skating and skiing among other activities. In particular, reading and baking are held close to their hearts as traditions to carry on in her memory.
She worked hard to curate beautiful things in her life and enjoyed spending her time finding unique pieces to bring into her home and closet. She was always so thrilled to get compliments on her style, in particular when it came to her glasses, furniture and shoes. One of her favorite pastimes were the holidays (Halloween and Christmas in particular) and holiday decorations. Her house was always decorated to the nines, especially while her kids were growing up, to make that a special time of year. That tradition is already being carried on by her children and their families.
Always going above and beyond to help others, providing advice and an ear to listen. Her warmth and her infectious laugh will be missed by all.
The family will be hosting a private event in her honour. Memorial Donations may be made in Marlene’s name to the Edmonton Humane Society, 13620 163 St NW, Edmonton, AB, T5V 0B2. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Misericordia Community Hospital, as well Dr. Omene and his team at the Cross Cancer Institute for their care and compassion.
