It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lola Vivian Malin who passed away with her family by her side on Monday, June 3rd, 2024 at the age of 87 years.
Lola will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Gerry; their children Diane, Bob, and Burke; and their daughter’s in-law Muriel and Kathy. She will also be dearly missed by her 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Lola was the glue that kept the family close. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, and took the time to pick out the perfect card and write a thoughtful note for every occasion. Lola truly thought about everyone else “first” even during her last moments on this earth. The grace and bravery she showed to everyone in the hospital during her final few days made us all very proud of her. Above all, Lola wanted the family to support and love each other through good times and difficult times. This was her mission in life… and she succeeded admirably.
Memorial Donations may be made in Lola’s name to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian National Institute of the Blind.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Women’s Wing for their care and compassion during the final weeks of Lola’s illness.
At Lola’s request no formal service will be held at this time.
