Obituary for
Jack William Washington
As the sun rose on Thursday June 13, 2024, Jack, age 68, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children.
Beloved husband of Debora Washington; loving father of Bryan Washington, Derek Washington, Kristin Washington and Kayla Whitman (Josh). Predeceased by his parents, Jeannie (Doel) Chipchar (Orest Chipchar) and William Washington. A brother to Jill Washington, Jim Chipchar, and Vikki Zwier (Phil).
Jack had a passion for playing and coaching his sons in hockey. He never missed an Oilers game, which he would enjoy in his garage with a cold beer. Jack loved playing the game of Bunnock, and golf with his family and friends. Jack was a hard working dedicated Electrical Instrumentation Foremen at Capital Power and an IBEW union member for many years. He made countless friendships here.
It was evident to anyone that Jack’s family was very important to him. Jack was a loving husband and best friend to his wife of 42 years. His four children looked up to him and will treasure all the advice and moments spent with him. He was often called the ‘cool dad’ for his long tied back hair, dance moves, and great conversations.
Jack will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. He was a legend. As per Jack’s request, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has been entrusted to Park Memorial. A private family inurnment will take place in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
Everyday reminds us another day has passed that we had to let you go. We miss you more than words can express; you will be in our hearts always and forever.
