It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Francella Beverley Smith Lindo, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, on November 6, 2024. Though her passing is much too soon, she has touched so many hearts and left behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
Francella was born in July of 1969 in Kingston, Jamaica, to loving and dedicated parents, Alton and Beverley Smith. Living in Jamaica, Francella made many lifelong friendships wherever she went, which she strongly maintained even after she moved to the UK and eventually Canada, seeking a better life for herself and her son, Kyle.
Not only was Francella a beacon of love and friendship, but she was also an incredibly intelligent and driven woman. After she graduated from Mount Alvernia High School and began working for the Hart group of companies, she earned a scholarship to return to university. She graduated from the University of Technology with First Class Honors and received many more accreditations as she developed her career as a financial controller.
Francella’s spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of her family, dear friends, and coworkers. She will be remembered for her strength, passion, resilience, and the joy she has brought to all our lives.
Francella is predeceased by her mother, Beverley, and survived by her son, Kyle; father, Alton; and her brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews. This incredible woman will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace.
A Funeral Service will be held at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. MST.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations be made to the Catherine Hall Primary School in Montego Bay, Jamaica, which Francella attended and held dear to her heart.
Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley Downtown Funeral Home.
