Eileen Mary Sleen Obituary
Eileen Mary Sleen (nee Burke) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, June 21, 2024.
Eileen leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Lloyd Sleen, son, Craig Sleen, daughter, Tracey Van Der Veen (Ken) and her two granddaughters Katrina Van Der Veen (Matt Walker) and Natasha Van Der Veen. She also leaves her brother Bob Burke (Arlene) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Eileen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed many family adventures during her time. She loved spending time outdoors, on a beach, especially at the ocean. She was a devoted teacher for over 30 years and taught many little people to read. Eileen was a dedicated volunteer for Victim Services for over 10 years and during that time helped many who encountered challenging times.
Eileen was not one for flowers and instead wished for people to donate, in lieu, to the Cross Cancer Institute.
Eileen touched many lives during her time on Earth and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 6 from 1-6 pm at the Leduc Lion’s Den at the Leduc Lion’s campground.
