On February 16, 2024, Douglas W. Steeden of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away at the age of 74 years.
Doug will be fondly remembered by his children, Sean (Elyse), Dwayne, and Sarah (Danh); and their mother, Margaret; his grandchildren, Hannah, Chloe, Carter, Alexis, Kinley, Kya, Davyn, Brennan, and Scarlett; his sister, Bev (Marshall) Pawluk and their children, Todd, Debbie, Tammy, Curtis, and Kevin; and countless colleagues, family, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Rose.
Doug was born to Bill and Rose Steeden in 1949 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. He was a caring father, friend and mentor to many. A well-known and respected member of the Alberta film and television industry, the impact Doug has made in that community will carry on in those who knew him.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many who helped care for dad and those who took the time to visit with him and send their well wishes.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Doug’s memory to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
Arrangements entrusted to Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South Funeral Home.

  1. I first met Doug in about 1990 when he was managing the ITV studio facilities. He was a respectful, honest, smart, thoughtful, and somewhat quiet man at first with a sense of humor that crept up on you and was subtle and joyful. We grew to have a very long-lasting relationship that we looked forward to and was a pleasure always. The world has been a better place with him in it and I will carry a part of him with me always.
