With grieving hearts we share the passing of our sweet daughter and sister Brittany Jade Moss on January 17,2024. She has left this world of pain to begin her heavenly walk, surrounded with God’s Peace and Joy.
Brittany was born on September 8,1984, in Edmonton Alberta. Her family moved to St. Albert where she completed her grade 12 at Paul Kane Senior High. Brittany was born with the love to dance and experienced many happy and exciting years dancing, especially with her much loved Ukrainian dance group Volya. Brittany had always been a loyal and hard working employee and benefited finance companies as well as positions with the City of Edmonton.
The summer sun was her niche and she always hoped one day to move somewhere warm. Mexico was the favourite retreat to dream of the ‘one day.’ Brittany and sister Jordan so enjoyed their ‘Moss’ days with their father Jim, and treasured spending time with his family and friends. Little sister Julia was Brittany’s biggest fan at her dance recitals, and later shared blessed moments together in time and prayer. Brittany was a big advocate for fitness and health and so enjoyed her passion of weight training with her brother Chase. Their hearts are torn in their loss for their ‘Britts.’
She was created to be a puppy mama and meticulously cared for her two loves, Hercules and Apollo. Many an hour and day would find her walking the river valley with her pups. Laurie was a happy mama to join them on frequent ‘mom and daughter’ days. Also her gentle and caring way provided a second home to her uncle Joey, as she with her then companion Steven Besenyei, watched over his daily life as well as his engagements around Edmonton. Her generosity with time and care for her parents also found her assisting Harvey with typing out sermons, as well as helping Laurie, providing her computer savvy. for articles and videos.
Brittany was given a unique and passionate personality. Firm in her convictions she found herself standing strong in many circumstances throughout her life. With the rapidly changing world and influences unbeknownst and unimaginable to her and her family, unbearable pain became a daily companion. They are comforted that she left it all with ease.
She is survived by her mother Laurie Penner, stepdad Harvey Penner, sisters Jordan Taylor Moss, Julia Rae Penner and brother Chase Dodd as many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her father James Moss, grandparents Lloyd and Sophie Moss, grandfather Steve Matwychuk, step grandparents Henry and Martha Penner, uncles Mervin, Fred, Joey, Steven Moss and cousin Dawn Moss.
A celebration of her life with family and friends will take place in the summer in the warmth of the sun.
