Obituary for
Angelo Canu
Angelo Canu peacefully passed away on October 29, 2024, at 2:22 p.m. in the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He was born on December 1, 1927, in Castelsardo, Sardinia, Italy.
Angelo is survived by his loving wife, Maruccia; and their two sons, Francesco and Giovanni (Lynn). He was a proud nonno to Janene (Robert), Melissa (Paul), and Tamarra (Justin). He is also survived by his brother, Antonio (Carolina) and their family; along with several nieces and nephews.
Angelo was predeceased by his siblings, Gavina, Vincenzo, Andrea,
Peppina, Maria, Assunta, and Maddalena.
A dedicated member of the Carpenters Union Local 1325, Angelo worked there for many years, retiring in 1992. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and singing, always encouraging others to join in the fun. He found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, often sitting in his shed with the door open, admiring his garden. Angelo loved taking walks around the neighborhood, catching up with neighbours, and engaging in conversations about investments and life advice – always offering his insights, whether you wanted them or not, in a joking manner that brought a smile to everyone’s face.
A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 8 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue NW, Edmonton. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Park Memorial. Entombment will take place in Italy.
