James “Jim” Larry Banack
September 25, 1947 – April 2, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Larry Banack of Buck Lake, Alberta, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the age of 76 years at Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre.
A resident of Buck Lake since 1970, James was a beloved member of the community. He held a special place in his heart for his family, and his grandchildren brought him immense joy, especially their shared interest in antique vehicles. James found happiness in simple pleasures like BBQing on the deck, enjoying A&W dates with his beloved Lorette, and being surrounded by the company of others. He had a passion for collecting antiques, which reflected his appreciation for history and craftsmanship. James will be remembered for his love of family, his warm presence, and his cherished memories shared with loved ones.
Jim will forever be lovingly remembered by his children, Darin (Heather) and Kalvin (Kate) and his “adopted daughter”, Heather Brzus; grandchildren, Amy (Davin), Travis (McKenna), Jake (Cherish), Josh, Lexi and Thomas; great-grandson, Reid; siblings, Florence (Ted), Leonard, Martha (Dana), David (Carmen), Tom (Joanne), Doreen (Harvey), Rose (Jerry) and Bernard; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family, as well as many life-long friends in the Buck Lake area.
Jim was predeceased by his loving wife, Lorette; parents, Stanley and Anne and brother, Stan.
Relatives and friends are invited to Buck Lake Community Centre on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate James’ life and to share the many wonderful memories made along the way. Interment will be held at St. Stanislaus Cemetery at Round Hill, Alberta, where he will join his dear Lorette in eternal rest.
The Banack family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the numerous health and personal care workers who have played a special role in Jim’s well-being over the years and to his great neighborhood group who have always been so kind.
