Dennis Wayne Carson
January 16, 1953 – November 15, 2023
Dennis Carson, of Breton passed away quietly and softly the morning of November 15, in his home surrounded by love, as was his wish.
In May , of 1974 Dennis received his bachelor of Science in organic chemistry from the U of A and in August of the same year he and Shelly were married. Dennis was employed as a Senior Research Technologist, Coal Research Department, with Alberta Research Council, first in Edmonton, and later Devon. He later worked as an Engineering Research Technologist for Natural Resources Canada, with Canmet ENERGY, again in Devon. Dennis fully retired in the fall of 2019. He loved having more time to take care of us all and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Dennis’s life will be cherished and remembered by his wife of 49 years, Shelly; and their family, Marty, Rachelle, Sophie, and Oliva of Edmonton; Sandra, Doug, Heidi, and Hayden of Breton; Brett of Breton; brother Stewart and nephew Dallas; sister-in-law, Deb and niece Rylee; as well as a very large and caring Carson, Barnett, Hanson, and Huntley extended family.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Reg and Verma Carson, his father and mother-in law, Ted and Blanche Barnett, brothers Harold and Kevin; and nephew Randy.
As per Dennis’s wish there will be no formal service. The family will host a party in his memory in the Carson backyard next summer to celebrate the great and caring man, who is much loved and dearly missed. Details to follow.
