It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of (Connie) Constance Ann Alexander, who was born on January 8, 1954, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Connie peacefully departed this world surrounded by her four children and one granddaughter on March 11, 2024, in Drayton Valley, Alberta, at the age of 70.
Connie will live on in the memories of her children, Dean, LeeAnn, Aaron (Denine), and Chad; daughter in-law Sarina; grandchildren Breydon, Briana, and Alysha; siblings Allan, Corinne, and Kathy (Rick); many nieces, nephews, friends, and her three 4 leggers, Madison, Pepper and Bella.
Connie was predeceased by her parents Randell and Rose.
In her earlier years, Connie enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards and ceramics. She devoted countless hours in the hockey arenas, cheering on her children and grandchildren, while watching hockey, figure skating and ringette. Later on, she spent time with great friends while playing BINGO, Scrabble, going to movies, trying new restaurants, and attending the Big Valley Jamboree for well over 30 years.
She took pride in her volunteer work as treasurer with the Girl Guides of Canada, as well as volunteering for concerts at the Northern Lights Folk Club with close friends. Connie made many donations to local pet shelters over the years.
Connie exuded warmth and kindness with her bright smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Connie’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff, nurses and doctors of the Drayton Valley Hospital. Thank you for the care and support to our Mom and us during the end of her journey.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to local pet shelters in Connie’s name.
A Celebration of Connie’s Life will be held at a later date, an announcement of the date will follow.
