Carmen Mary Buck
March 28, 1961 – August 21, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved soul who touched the lives of many with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. Carmen Buck passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on the evening of Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the age of 63 years.
She was a devoted wife to Ward, her rock and constant companion, and a pillar of strength for her beloved children. Her dedication to her family knew no bounds, and her love for them shone brightly in every moment shared together.
A beacon of love and joy, she adored her grandchildren, finding immense happiness in their presence and cherishing the moments spent watching them grow and thrive. Their laughter and innocent spirits brought light into her life, and she treasured each precious memory made with her grandchildren. Carmen was the happiest when her house was full, bustling with the sounds of laughter, chatter, and endless warmth provided by her beautiful family.
Her connection to nature was profound, as she found solace and beauty in the art of gardening. Whether tending to colorful blooms or nurturing thriving vegetable patches, she cultivated life and growth with a gentle touch and a loving heart. Her green thumb was a reflection of her nurturing spirit, bringing beauty and vitality to her surroundings.
Her love extended not only to her family but also to all animals, showing compassion and care for every creature she encountered. Her genuine love and respect for all living beings mirrored the boundless love she shared with those around her.
Known affectionately as “Gramma Carmen” to all the children who crossed her path, she left an indelible mark on their hearts with her kindness, patience, and unconditional love. She was a source of comfort, wisdom, and endless love to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was well loved by many, her presence a beacon of light and love in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were touched by her grace.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her husband, Ward; children, James, Nicole (B.J.) and Alan (Maryanne); grandchildren, Reese, Harli, Gavin, Wiley, Tessa, Pepper, Carter, Kael, Peyton and Aubrey; brother, Victor (Donna); in-laws, Marilyn (Rick), Shelley (Rick), Cameron, Bryan (Lori), Terry and Derek, many nieces, nephews and an incredible amount of wonderful friends.
Carmen was predeceased by her mother, Arita and brother, Corey.
The Buck family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Ponoka Hospital and the Red Deer Hospice for the incredible care and compassion provided to Carmen and her family throughout her illness and final days.
As a gesture of their appreciation for the care and compassion provided to Carmen and their entire family, Carmen’s family requests that memorial donations in her name be made directly to Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4R 3S6.
