Michael “Mitch” Huculak Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael “Mitch” Huculak on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 64, surrounded by his loving family at the Claresholm General Hospital. His battle with a brain tumor for the last 19 years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Mitch came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Mitch was born on December 13, 1959 in Camrose, Alberta. After graduation he met and married his loving wife, Linda and resided in Camrose where their first child, Chantel was born. They would soon move to Lloydminster, with the arrival of their second daughter, Sarah. Mitch started working for Quinn Pumps as a pump hand that would take his family to Kitscoty, Sylvan Lake, Red Deer and finally Taber where he would proudly manage a shop of his own. At the age of 45, Mitch began his journey fighting brain cancer and a tumor. After 19 years in Taber and his daughters grown, Mitch and Linda would move back up to Red Deer before moving once more and settling in Claresholm for the last 5 years.
Mitch loved Jeeps as well as camping and fishing as much as he could. He loved his family dearly, lovingly known and quickly becoming a beloved friend of many.
He is predeceased by his parents Mike and Doreen, sisters LaVaye and Rhonda, and niece Trina.
Mitch will forever be loved and remembered by his wife Linda, daughters Chantel (Ryan) Scott, Sarah, grandsons William and Noah, Sisters Renee (Paul ) Mudryk, Roxanne (Bob) Doell, Brother-in-laws Byron Tisdale, Darren (Deedee) Law, Mother-in-law Kathleen Valentine and Father-in-law Wayne (Toni)Law as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews
A Celebration of Mitch’s life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11AM at Peace Lutheran Church (4304 2nd St W) in Claresholm where family and friends are invited to share memories and honor his courageous life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Claresholm & District Health Foundation towards the purchase of a second Cuddler Bed.
