It is with heavy hearts that the Palme family shares the passing of
Dr. Magnus Palmé, a long-standing contributing member of the Canmore community, outstanding physician, and father.
Magnus lived a fast and worldly life. Born in Sweden, raised in Zimbabwe, studying in South Africa, and eventually moving to Canada, Magnus was a man of many interests with contacts all over the world.
Striking up a conversation on the bus, in line at the grocery store, or with his beloved patients, Magnus was chatty, social, and generous both with his heart and his time.
Magnus spent his days enjoying playing sports, reading well into the night and keeping up-to-date on world events.Those that were closest to him witnessed his joy for reminiscing about his childhood, spirited tangential musings, and routine midnight snacking.
Survived by his three children, memories of Magnus’ wittiness, unconventional humour, and active involvement in their childhood remains.
The last few years, Magnus struggled with his mental health and well-being and his family is grateful and appreciative of those who supported him and brought him some comfort.
