On Tuesday, April 16, 2024 Mrs. Sharon Gail Edwards, beloved wife of the late Donald Edwards, of Calgary, Alberta passed away at the age of 77 years.
Sharon was born in Lethbridge and raised in Turner Valley. She had her own ‘Snip & Curl’ hairdressing business for ten years. Sharon was also employed at “Tescorp” and Dura – Lite. She enjoyed being a Girl Guide leader, and was a trustee in the Eagles Club in Trail, British Columbia. Sharon curled for many years. She truly loved her books, crafts, knitting, and crocheting. Sharon met Joe Liblong and they married in 1964. Together they had two sons, she loved being a mother to and adored Lonnie and Tony.
Sharon met Donald Edwards, and they married in the beautiful back country of McLean Creek on August 1, 1994. Sharon not only gained a husband with Don, but she also gained five lovely daughters. Sharon always made a point in telling her family how much she loved and appreciated them. Sharon and Don were avid outdoors people and enjoyed camping with lots of family in tow. She was able to go on and fell in love with two cruises which she enjoyed immensely. Sharon was a dedicated caregiver to Don through his stroke for many years until his passing in March 2022.
Sharon is survived by her children, Lonnie Liblong of Trail, British Columbia, Daphne Reid of Okotoks, Alberta, Deborah Mason of Calgary, Donna and her husband Kevin Harbison of Rockyford, Alberta, Crystal and her husband Troy Schnurer of Rockyford, Tina Clarke of Calgary; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; siblings Randy Mason and his wife Susan of Lethbridge, Alberta, Jim Mason and his wife Ezebel of Calgary, Debbie Mason of Calgary, Tina Mason of Calgary, Brenda and her husband Mike Field of Calgary, and Kevin Mason of Red Deer County, Alberta.
Besides her husband Don, Sharon is predeceased by her son Tony Liblong; granddaughter Davina Sheridan; sisters Linda Mason, Sandra Michalezki; brothers Wayne Mason, Brian Mason; and nephew Paul Mason.
A Memorial Service will be held for Sharon at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from Pierson’s Funeral Service Ltd., 4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta. Cremation has taken place at Foothills Crematorium. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
