Mike Chorney Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Chorney, aged 82, on November 3, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mike was born on the family farm near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, the son of John and Lena Chorney, the youngest of four children. Mike grew up in Foam Lake and later went to nursing school in Weyburn, Saskatchewan where he met his wife Mona. Mike was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and his love of life and his family. He enjoyed playing baseball, curling, and bowling. Mike loved camping and never hesitated to help a friend. He loved to dance and party and brought joy to those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mona (née Smith), his daughters Natasha (Ryan), Tatiana (German), and two grandsons Ronan and Ridley.
