Kendra O’Hare Obituary
Kendra O’Hare passed away peacefully on December 23rd, surrounded by family. Kendra is survived by her husband Conor, her mother Anne, her father Gerard, her sisters Ashleen and Kiera, and her brother Connor. Kendra is also survived by her niece Norah, Godchild Rosie, nephew Cillian, and lovingly remembered by all the O’Hare family.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Kendra always adored Ireland and identified more with her Irish roots than her Canadian heritage. The Irish craic, landscapes, and people resonated with her, making her feel most at home. From an early age, her Irish culture shone brightly through her love of singing, composing her own songs, dancing, and laughing. Kendra’s infectious humour made her the funniest person at any gathering and was known for laughing until she cried. As for her cooking, it was out of this world, and her culinary talents translated into being a truly outstanding host.
Blessed with a mischievous spirit, Kendra was always seeking the next little adventure. During the last leg of one of her European escapades with her sister, she met Conor O’Hare, the love of her life, in Warrenpoint, Ireland. They danced the night away and were inseparable from that moment on. Kendra and Conor were married on October 16, 2017. She treasured her life with Conor, their dogs, and cats, ensuring that dancing and singing were constants.
She cherished collecting quirky little ornaments and odd trinkets to decorate her house or to give as gifts to her loved ones. Fascinated with old locks and keys since childhood, she accumulated a significant collection of antique skeleton keys and old-world Celtic locks. Kendra had a childlike wonderment about the simple things in life, such as lights during the Christmas season, people-watching, and finding laughter in the simplest of times. Her reverence for seeing the magic in the world was evident in her appreciation of mountains, camping on the land, and her love of swimming.
Kendra always had a strong sense of independence and a fierce nature to protect the people she loved most. She was straightforward and unapologetic.
Kendra truly had a magnetic soul that left a lasting mark on those she met. While Kendra will be dearly missed, her memory will remain in our hearts for eternity.
Funeral Mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Parish (1100 Berkshire Blvd NW) on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10:00 am.
